Bajaj Auto’s Nepal distributor, Hulas Auto Craft has opened a state-of-the-art CKD assembly plant for its HH Bajaj Unit, in Ramgram, Nawalprasi, Nepal. This plant has a capacity of 300 bikes per shift.
 
Mr. Shekhar Golchha, Managing Director, Hulas Auto Craft said “This is just the beginning of new age of automobile industrialization in Nepal. With the initiation of assembly unit, people will soon get interested in starting component manufacturing and it will help further in localization. This will lead to overall economic growth of the country and further strengthening of Automobile sector in Nepal.” Mr. Rakesh Sharma, President, International Business, Bajaj Auto Limited inaugurated the plant. Mr. Sharma complimented Mr. Glochha for his commendable work & passion towards building this wonderful facility in Nepal. He emphasized that the distributor team has been able to achieve this feat in turbulent times of massive earthquakes & political disturbances. He added, the plant will certainly aid in generating employment opportunities and will aid in growth of the nation.
 
The president added “This is a landmark in the journey of Bajaj Auto in Nepal and this state of the art facility is an inspiration for other Distributors. Such initiatives drive Bajaj Auto partners to achieve newer heights in their respective countries; and at the same time, bring more joy and prosperity in the lives of customers & Dealers and other stakeholders.
 
Mr. Manish Singh Rathore, Business Head, SAME region and Mr. Pramod Sahane, Head, Assembly & Logistics were among the other dignitaries present at the event.
 
At present, Bajaj Auto is selling around 48,000 motorcycles in Nepal annually with a 46% market share. With Assembly plant & various other initiatives in place, the business is expected to increase by 45-50% in next 2 years.
